My son had a great year at Blackhawks Sports Club with Coach Mirnes. What I liked most was how he worked with each player differently and put into position that was best for that childβs development. My child really respects him and was always excited to go to practices and games, which means a lot at this age. At the start of the year, we were a little worried about getting a new coach since our son had the same great coach for several years, starting when he was about 6. But Coach Mirnes did an amazing job and relates really well to teenage boys. The club management has always been responsive, and the overall atmosphere is great. Itβs also nice to be part of a club that focuses on building a strong community, not just soccer. The kids and parents all had a great experience. Weβre very thankful for a great season. Looking forward to seeing how our second year with Blackhawks goes with a different coach.

The coaches and support staff are great and really helpful. It's a very respectful organization. My younger daughter has been playing here and my older daughter is now switching from Michigan Stars to this group. It's an awesome deal, too. If your kid's planning to be a pro this might not be the place for them, but if they're very young or just looking for a challenge and some travel this is a really nice place to be.

Blackhawks Sports Club has been a great experience for our son and daughter. The atmosphere is fun, encouraging and competitive. They also encourage our kids to compete in multiple sports, which is what youth athletics has been lacking this past decade or two! The commitment to putting every dollar back into the kids and expanding their opportunities is second to none in Michigan.

So happy that my son plays for the Blackhawks soccer club! He has dedicated coaches who not only work on soccer specific skills but also focus on great sportsmanship! They are great role models both on and off the field!

Wowβjust played this clubβs 2013 Gold team, and it was one of the most unprofessional youth soccer environments Iβve seen. There were five yellow cards issued and one player ejected, which already says a lot. But what really stood out was the behavior on the sidelinesβthree coaches constantly screaming at the referee for the entire game. Even after the final whistle, the yelling continued. Instead of modeling composure and sportsmanship, it felt like watching a group of overly emotional rec-level parents coaching out of frustration. That kind of behavior has no place in youth sports, especially for 12-year-olds who are supposed to be learning respect and discipline along with the game. There are far more professional and development-focused clubs in the areaβStars, Nationals Liverpool, Bucks, Burn, DCFC Oakland, Royal Oak FCβwhere kids can actually grow in a positive environment. If youβre considering this club, I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere. The players deserve better leadership, and youth sports deserve better standards. Do better, Blackhawks.
